UK´s failure to ratify UN Convention on Rights of Disabled People "Shameful"- Liz Lynne MEP New!

Local Liberal Democrat MEP Liz Lynne has today criticised the government for missing its deadline of ratifying the United Nations' Convention on the rights of people with disabilities by 2008. Liz played a key role in campaigning for the treaty and was the European Parliaments draftsperson for a report on the treaty in 2003.

Solihull's MP Lorely Burt joined staff at W H Smith in Mell Square this week to promote the Woodland Trust Christmas card recycling scheme, running nationwide from 2nd to 31st January.

Birmingham and West Midlands Euro- MP Liz Lynne has said that plans floated by Transport Minster Lord Adonis for a possible high speed rail link between London and Birmingham should focus on plugging Birmingham into the existing Eurostar link to the continent.
