Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy today visited Shrewsbury and Atcham. He joined Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Richard Burt and local councillors on a visit to pensioners at the Monkmoor Day Centre in Forest Way in Monkmoor.

Charles Kennedy visited the Monkmoor Day Centre run by Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Age Concern at Crowmore Community Room, Forest Way, Monkmoor. He talked to pensioners and Age Concern staff about pensions and related issues for older people. It has recently been announced that the Age Concern club at the centre faces closure.

Richard Burt, the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Shrewsbury said "Charles' visit was fantastic and shows how seriously the Liberal Democrats are taking Shrewsbury and Atcham. We will be having many more visits from MP's over the next few months to Shrewsbury."
