West Midlands Liberal Democrats go into the election on a new high6.00.00pm GMT Fri 18th Mar 2005
On the eve on the West Midlands Regional Conference in Birmingham tomorrow the Chair of the Regional Liberal Democrats Tracey O'Brien sent a rallying message to the members across the Region by saying "The West Midlands Liberal Democrats go in to the General and County Council Elections on a new high." Tracey O'Brien further said "The West Midland Liberal Democrats have an opportunity in these elections to have some stunning results, before 1997 we had no MPs or MEPs, we now have two MPs - Matthew Green in Ludlow and Paul Keetch in Hereford and one MEP - Liz Lynne. I expect the Liberal Democrats to do win even more MP's and County Councillors at the elections, we have high hopes of winning Birmingham Yardley, West Worcestershire, Shrewsbury and Atcham, Solihull, Birmingham Hodge Hill, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham Sparkbrook and Small Heath to name but seven.
