Polling Website Shows Huge Support For Liberal Democrat

6.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 18th Apr 2005

The initial results of the polling website www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com shows that 43% of users 'should' vote Liberal Democrat based on the policy choices they made, despite only 29% expecting a Liberal Democrat outcome.

Simon Hughes, Liberal Democrat Party President, said "This poll shows the huge amount of support the public has for Liberal Democrat policies across all issues. The more people learn about our policies for families, students and young people, and the elderly, the better we do in the polls. Policies such as axing the unfair Council Tax, scrapping student tuition and top-up fees, and pledging 10,000 extra police mean that the Liberal Democrats are the real alternative for many voters."
