Commenting on the UN investigation into the death of the former Lebanese Prime Minister, Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary Sir Menzies Campbell MP said:

"It is imperative that this investigation proceeds further to the point at which those who are alleged to have been responsible are identified.

"The inferences of involvement of Syria at a senior level and of Lebanese co-operation are profoundly disturbing. This report is the beginning but by no means the end of the story."
