Gas Crisis: DTI/Ofgem Information Sharing Welcomed9.12.00am GMT Thu 24th Nov 2005 John Hemming MP has welcomed the announcement by Ofgem that they are now going to obtain information from the DTI about when Gas Fields have production problems. Ofgem said: *Ofgem have a new link with the DTI, so for the first time they will know exactly what is happening offshore, e.g. if there are any technical problems with fields. However, they cannot pass on detailed information. This new agreement with DTI will last for this winter. *Ofgem are assessing with the DTI the overall maximum beach delivery and reliability. John Hemming MP said, "I welcome this change. I did mention it to Malcolm Wicks. It strikes me as odd that this was not in place earlier. Better late than never I suppose." ENDS
