Government must raise its game on climate change

6.32.00am GMT Thu 1st Dec 2005

Responding to the launch of the government's campaign on climate change, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment spokesman, Norman Baker MP, said:

"It is welcome for the government to raise awareness of the threat of climate change, but the urgent need is for them to raise their game to. Only a system of mandatory national targets on carbon emissions will deliver the results we need. The government needs to show it is serious about action, not just public relations."
