Cameron on climate change - proof of the pudding in the eating

10.10.00am GMT Thu 8th Dec 2005

Commenting on the launch of a Conservative policy group on the environment, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary Norman Baker MP said:

"Climate change is undoubtedly the most serious issue we face. "The Liberal Democrats have initiated a process where parties can work together to tackle this issue.

"Tough decisions are going to be necessary and the Liberal Democrats are prepared to make them. I hope the Conservatives are too.

"We welcome the fact that David Cameron has highlighted the issue so early in his tenure but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating."
