Fare rises exasperating for passengers

10.10.00am GMT Thu 8th Dec 2005

Commenting on the announcement by ATOC of their new fare rises, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, Tom Brake MP said:

"Passengers will be exasperated by these fare rises whilst the levels of overcrowding on their trains are continuing to rise.

"If the Government want people to use public transport then it is sending the wrong signals by increasing the price gap between rail and car travel."
