Lessons need to be learnt from Potters Bar crash

10.10.00am GMT Thu 8th Dec 2005

Responding to Alistair Darling's announcement that there will be no public inquiry into the Potters Bar rail crash, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, Tom Brake MP said:

"Now that the Rail Accident Investigation branch has been established important lessons from the crash can be learnt and recommendations made. "It is unlikely that a public enquiry would reveal any information that wasn't already in the public domain."
