Closure of ITN News Channel a loss

Commenting on the decision by ITV to scrap the ITN News Channel, Liberal Democrat Shadow DCMS Secretary Don Foster MP said:

"I'm sorry to hear that the ITV News Channel will be shutting down in the New Year.

"Competition between news broadcaster is crucial to airing a variety of stories and different perspectives.

"To ensure a range of quality news programmes, I would hope that money that has been saved will go towards news on all ITV channels, including digital."
