Hidden NHS job cuts outrageous - Webb12.34.52pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 8th May 2006
Commenting on nearly a thousand more NHS jobs cuts in Manchester and Birmingham, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Steve Webb MP, said "The latest news of hundreds more NHS job cuts are the first of many we expect over the coming weeks. "The Health Secretary has kept her job whilst thousands of doctors and nurses are losing theirs. Many people will think this the wrong way round." "The Liberal Democrats warned that job cuts announcements were being delayed until after the local elections and we are already seeing evidence of this. "It's outrageous the public weren't told the full truth about NHS job cuts before they voted.
