Blairs visit an opportunity to forge new strategy on Iraq - Moore

3.33.21pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 22nd May 2006

Commenting on the Prime Minister's visit to Iraq, Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary, Michael Moore MP said "The Prime Minister's visit to Iraq ought shoe to him the growing chasm between his Government's rhetoric and the desperate reality on the ground.

"The priority now must be to establish a strong Government of national unity to tackle increasing sectarian strife.

"Tony Blair must use this visit to prepare a strategy for Iraq which will allow the phased withdrawal of coalition troops."
