Jim Sheridan, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, resigned as a parliamentary private secretary to the defence team in protest at the UK Government's policy on the Middle East

Jim Sheridan's resignation draws further attention to the serious dispute in the Labour party and reinforces the need for a recall of Parliament so the Government's flawed policy towards the Middle East can be debated.
