British strategy needed from Blair on Iraq - Campbell3.55.54pm GMT Mon 13th Nov 2006
Commenting ahead of Tony Blair's Mansion House speech, Leader of the Liberal Democrats Menzies Campbell said "There is every indication that the Prime Minister will finally accept that the coalition strategy in Iraq has failed. "It is abundantly clear, as Liberal Democrats have long argued, that Iran and Syria must be involved in the interests of regional stability. "A new approach with phased withdrawal at its centre is essential. "We need a British strategy based on British priorities, not one that is dependent on the outcome of an American inquiry."
