NHS reforms another case of legacy chasing - Campbell5.08.24pm GMT Tue 5th Dec 2006
Commenting on Tony Blair's speech on reconfiguration of services in the NHS, Liberal Democrat Leader Menzies Campbell said "This is another case of Tony Blair trying to carve out his legacy rather than doing what is in the long-term interests of the NHS. "We need long-term planning, not permanent revolution in the NHS. "Since 1997 this Prime Minister has been chasing headlines by ramming reforms through the system at a damaging rate, casting aside the opinions of health professionals and disregarding the wishes of local people."
