Speaking at today's Prime Minister's Questions, Leader of the Liberal Democrats Menzies Campbell called for a wholesale review of the laws on prostitution in order to ensure women's safety.

Menzies Campbell said "The Prime Minister is obviously, like the rest of us, shocked by the disturbing events in Suffolk. It's clear, is it not, that once again we see the link between poverty, prostitution and drug abuse?"

Following the Prime Minister's reply that many lessons would be learned in a considered way and at a latter time, Menzies Campbell asked "At that latter time will the Prime Minister consider a wholesale review of the law in this area, so as to ensure we do everything in our power, so far as possible, to ensure women's safety."
