Blair is defined by disastrous Iraq misjudgements - Campbell8.50.33pm GMT Fri 29th Dec 2006
Responding to the Archbishop of Canterbury's comments this morning about Government policy in Iraq, Liberal Democrat Leader Menzies Campbell said "As he comes towards the end of his time in Number 10, Tony Blair is increasingly defined by his disastrous misjudgements over Iraq. "This illegal war based on a flawed prospectus has bought instability and destruction. "Saddam Hussein's execution will remedy none of these and is likely to exacerbate the situation. "Everyday justifies the recent judgements of Britain's most senior soldier that we should leave Iraq sooner rather than later."
