Sooner or later Blair will need to comment on Saddam's execution - Campbell1.24.09pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 5th Jan 2007
Commenting on the fact that the Prime Minister has failed to speak publicly about the manner of Saddam Hussein's execution, Liberal Democrat Leader Menzies Campbell said: "The Prime Minister's silence is more eloquent than anything he might have said. "The shameful scenes at Saddam Hussein's execution should be an embarrassment to everyone. Most of all they reflect the abject failure of the policies of the White House and Number 10 towards Iraq. "Sooner or later Mr Blair will have to respond to these events." Applicability: this item refers to England and Wales. Due to devolution, detailed policy may be different in other areas of the UK.
