More legislation is not going to stop gun violence - Campbell5.11.52pm GMT Wed 21st Feb 2007 Responding to reports that the Prime Minister will announce new measures and legislation to tackle gun violence, Leader of the Liberal Democrats Menzies Campbell said: "More legislation is not going to stop gun violence and gang culture. Rather than new laws we need more police and more effective policing. "All young people should feel that they have a stake in society. Effective schooling, more engaged youth services and better community support are also needed to help disadvantaged young people escape the cycle of deprivation and gang culture.
