Statement from Tim Farron MP: Virgin Trains derailment between Oxenholme and Tebay

Tim Farron - MP for Westmoreland and Lonsdale

Local MP Tim Farron, speaking tonight following the news of the derailment of a Virgin Trains service in his constituency, said:

"My thoughts and prayers tonight are with the passengers and train staff involved in this incident, their friends and families. I would also like to pay tribute to the workers from the emergency services who are involved in the rescue operation for their speed of response and professionalism in dealing with this incident."
