LIBDEM SHADOW HEALTH MINISTER AND WORCESTER GP ADD THEIR SUPPORT TO 'SAVE OUR NHS' RALLY4.45.46pm GMT Mon 5th Mar 2007 More support has been announced for the 'Save our Health Service' march and rally scheduled for 11am next Saturday, 10th March in Priory Park, Malvern. Rally organiser and Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire, Richard Burt today said that Worcester GP, Dr John O'Driscoll will join Independent Health Concern MP, Dr Richard Taylor and Malvern health campaigner and town councillor, Pat Merrick on the march and rally. Dr O'Driscoll, who is a member of the Local Medical Committee, will explain how exaggerated claims about health services that do not meet up to reality can lead to public dissatisfaction with the treatment they receive. Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Minister, Norman Lamb MP has also posted an audio podcast (attached) to Richard's website on www.richardburt.org underlining his support for the rally and calling on local people to send a clear message to government about Whitehall mismanagement of local health services. Norman Lamb MP said. "Patricia Hewitt claims she believes in local decision making, but the reality is very different, with everything dictated from the centre in Whitehall. "I urge people to attend Richard Burt's Worcestershire NHS rally in Malvern on Saturday to add their voices to the call for more local control of our NHS services."
