LABOUR SEND OUT A CLEAR SIGNAL IN WEST WORCESTERSHIRE10.48.20pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 17th Apr 2007 Labour have sent out a clear signal by failing to field a single candidate in any council seat in the West Worcestershire Constituency, said Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt.
"With no candidates in Wychavon or Malvern Hills District Council wards that fall within West Worcestershire, it is clear that Labour are leaving the door wide open for a straight fight between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives at the next General Election," said Mr Burt. "By failing to field candidates, the Labour Party have sent out a clear message to their 5000 voters from the last General Election to vote tactically in West Worcestershire. Tactical voting in similar seats has significantly benefited the Liberal Democrats, who opposed the war in Iraq and have campaigned hard on the environment, civil liberties and social justice."
