Hemming to ask courts for permission to publish miscarriages of justice11.17.19am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 3rd Jul 2007 John Hemming MP, Chairman of Justice for Families, is to visit the Royal Courts of Justice tomorrow to ask for permission to publish details of miscarriages of justice in the Family Courts.
"We know", he said, "following the Websters case that there are cases where children are wrongly removed from their parents and put up for adoption. This, however, is far more common than people think. I have details of about 90 cases where various things have gone wrong in the Family Courts. I am applying for a court order to allow me to publish (with the permission of the parents) examples of miscarriages of justice." "The case of PC & S was a very early example of a false forced adoption. It is important to remember the effect these actions have on the adoptive parents as well as the child and the birth parents. These create a massive amount of trauma. That is why we need to stop doing it."
