Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt, has this week welcomed the launch of a new logo to help promote increased recognition of the dangers of deadly carbon monoxide (CO) gas to the general public.
The Carbon Monoxide Consumers Awareness Alliance (COCAA) launched the 'Be Carbon Monoxide Aware' logo in the Houses of Parliament on 16 October during Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week (15-19 October).
Speaking at the launch, Lorely said:
"I am pleased to see that the industry has come together to raise awareness of carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be deadly.
"I urge people in Solihull to make sure they have their gas appliances checked regularly by a CORGI registered installer and fit an audible carbon monoxide detector in their home to protect themselves and their families.
"It is vitally important that there is a concerted effort to make the public aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide and I believe that a co-ordinated approach across industry is the best way to do this.
"The launch of the 'Be Carbon Monoxide Aware' logo is a significant step in this ongoing campaign."
