LIB DEM NO2ID CAMPAIGNER JOINS CONDEMNATION OF GOVERNMENT ON LOST CHILD BENEFIT DATA12.32.09pm GMT Thu 22nd Nov 2007
Commenting as a founder member of the Worcestershire NO2ID campaign, [see attached press release], West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt said: "The loss of 25million records of personal banking data by a government department is simply breathtaking. "It underlines Government's repeated failure to keep personal information secure and to deliver large scale IT projects effectively and on budget. "How could we trust this Government to deliver a compulsory, universal ID card scheme without catastrophic breakdowns in the system and breaches in personal security?"
