BURT PRAISES UPTON IN BLOOM EFFORTS TO 'BANISH THE BAG'

West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt has praised 'Upton in Bloom' members for their efforts to banish the plastic bag from Upton by promoting re-useable alternatives at an exhibition held in the Memorial Hall last Friday and Saturday.

Mr Burt, who has called for traders and councillors across Worcestershire to work together to banish the use disposable plastic bags said:

"Plastic bags are thrown away in their millions every year and contribute 1% to all waste buried in landfill.

"Bags blowing around can be a real eyesore and a great danger to wildlife, so it's great to see Upton leading the way to banish the bag in Worcestershire."
