MP SEARCHES FOR 'SHIPWRECKED' VOLUNTEER8.27.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 1st Jul 2008
Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt is looking for a constituent with an interest in politics who would like to be 'shipwrecked' on the idyllic Cook Islands. She is making the appeal following a request from the Channel 4 makers of Shipwrecked - a survival programme - to find a young, politically active person in Solihull who would be prepared to join a group left to survive on a desert island. "The format for the next series has changed to provide a platform for more interesting discussion between the desert islanders," said Lorely Burt "If there is anyone out there who would like to volunteer to take part in this life changing experience, please give my office a ring on 0121 706 9593 or send an email to burtl@parliament.uk and I can put you in touch with the programme makers. "I'm sure whoever gets the chance to be cast away on the Cook Islands will have the experience of a lifetime - learning to build accommodation, cooking island and working as a team. "As someone who is politically minded, I'm sure the team would benefit from the resourcefulness and ideas of a young LibDem!" added Lorely.
