Solihull MP Lorely Burt has once again been named the Federation of Small Business' 'most business friendly parliamentarian '
The award, which is presented by the Warwickshire and Coventry region of the Federation of Small Business, is given to the MP who they feel has done the most for small business over the past year.
Lorely has spoken at many events regarding the current plight of small business owners during the recession and has held numerous discussions with key stakeholders on ways to help small businesses
This is the second year in a row that Mrs Burt has received the prestigious award.
Speaking after being presented the award, Mrs Burt said:
"It is truly an honour to be accepting this award from the Federation of Small Business for the second year running."
"Small businesses are the backbone of this country's economy and when they are faltering the rest of us fall with them; but I believe they are the vanguard leading us out of recession."
"My experience of running a business before becoming an MP has given an insight how tough it can be to be a successful businessman/woman, let alone when we are still in a very unfavourable climate."
"Government needs to do more to help businesses, and not continue to stifle them from growth"
"I look forward to continuing to stand up on behalf of small businesses across Solihull and the area and would encourage any that are having difficulties to contact me."
